59th Midwest Magic Jubilee – 13-15 Aug. 2015

For the magicians in the St. Louis area, you all probably know about the Midwest Magic Jubilee at the St. Louis Airport Hilton which starts on Thurday and closes Saturday night. This is really for all the non-magicians out there for performances open to the public.

Thursday night, we have a Best of the Midwest performance which is free to veterans and their families. As for the entertainment, I cannot personally vouch for any of the performers except for St. Louis’ own Dan Todd, who always puts on a great show and brings the crowd a lot of fun. Also on the bill are David Goldman, Kevin Heller, Blayk Puckett, and Robert Sode, and going by what I’ve heard, this should be a great show.

Friday night’s show has a line up of Danny Orleans and Jan Rose, Tom Burgoon, Steve Barcellona, and
Ken Scott. It’s a great line up with great comedy magic and features one of my favorite magicians, Tom Burgoon. Seriously, I really recommend this show. Tom’s one of those magicians that I always look forward to seeing. Also a great mention of New Jersey by way of St. Louis magician Steve Barcellona who knows how to bring the house down.

Saturday evening, we have Roy Zaltsman, Bob Little, and Trent James. Roy’s mentalism is as entertaining as it gets by being as entertaining as it is amazing. Trent James is the youngest performer in the complete line up, and each time I see his stage illusions, it just keeps getting better. This year, Trent earned 2nd Place Adult Stage at the International Brotherhood of Magicians Convention. This should be a great show and I also highly recommend it.

Tickets for the Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening shows are $15 for adults and $8 for youths 16 and under. (As I mentioned before, There are also VIP seating tickets available for $20 each and can be purchased at the door or online at http:\\www.mmjubilee.com.

You might see me there, but as I’ll be stage manager, it’s not very likely until after the shows. Hit me up if you’ll be there and I’ll look for you afterwards.

Shameless Self Promotion – Let Them Eat Art, Friday, July 11, 2014

This Friday, July 11, is Maplewood’s tribute to Bastille Day. From 6pm until later into the evening, I’ll be performing the section of Sutton Blvd. Maplewood has blocked off for the occasion (between Marietta and Hazel). Doing my busking routine and bringing my brand of stoopid and magic to the festivities. Looking at the list of entertainment, it looks like it should be a great party atmosphere for everybody who comes out. Hi Tadah, the top spinner I really dug at Fringe Fest will also be performing, so I’m digging on that. Check out the information for Let Them Eat Art at http://www.cityofmaplewood.com/index.aspx?NID=147. Admittedly, in the Entertainers section, the write-up they culled for me is a little disjointed (I’m going to have to put together a stock one so that is a little clearer for future events) and the picture they used is of Gazzo (Damn, I wish I was at his level!) but I will be there. I hope to see you all there, too!

I love this gig!

Fringe Performance Update – 22JUN2014

For anybody who may have planned on coming out to see my show today, because of the weather, the show has been moved across the street from Strauss Park to Third Baptist Church at 620 N. Grand. The church is catty-corner to the Fox Theater, so if you know where the Fox is, finding the church shouldn’t be that hard. I will be performing at 4:30 it’s a free performance, magic, and laughs.

Shameless Self-Promotion: St. Louis Fringe Festival 2014

This weekend, June 21 and 22, I will be performing at the St. Louis Fringe Festival. I have a family event to attend Saturday morning/early afternoon, so I won’t start doing my busking act at the festival until probably around 4 pm until whenever I feel I’ve run my course with it or the evening festivities wind down. (Hey, it’s busking. I can make my own schedule on this.) Sunday, I will be performing a 45 minute show on the Street Fringe stage they have set up in Strauss Park at 4:30 pm. According to the notice I received, “In the case of rain all Street Fringe performances will be moved to Third Baptist Church at 620 N. Grand.” That’s across the street from Strauss Park. They have a lot of acts going on, some in theaters, and a lot going on in the Street Fringe area. Theater shows have ticket prices attached to them, but the street stuff is all free. As I’m busking, yeah, I’ll hat whatever crowd stops to enjoy the show, but it’s all up to you if you want to pay. Kind words are payment enough, but money is always welcome. It’ll be hot out (if not wet), but it will be a good time. More information on the St. Louis Fringe Festival can be found at http://stlfringe.com. Everybody who can is invited and welcome to come on out and enjoy the stoopid!

Shameless Self-Promotion – IBM Ring 1 Spring Parade of Magic

Show times 2 and 7 pm, but when the doors open an hour before showtimes, close-up magic will be performed in the lobby. Main stage performers will be Terry Richison (magicofterryrich.com), Steve Barcellona (stevebarcellona.com), Marty Kopp (martinkopp.com), and Mike Niehaus (mikeniehaus.com), and the show emcee will be the IBM International President, Bill Evans. Shameless Self-Promotion – Busking Tomorrow, Sat. 11OCT2013

Shameless self-promotion plug. I’ll be busking at the Webster Groves Art on the Town (http://wcaf.org) from noon until 5 pm. The art festival will be in Webster Groves, MO on the streets of Lockwood, Allen, and Gore. I don’t know where I’ll be, exactly, and I may spend the time working different pitches. They have a number of events scheduled for the family in addition to many participating artists out showing and selling.
